Hotel towels have always been important consumables in hotel operation and management. Therefore, the procurement of hotel towels is particularly crucial for hotel managers. What key points should be paid special attention to when purchasing hotel towels nowadays? Let's find out:

  1.Visual Inspection

The towel should be finely stitched with neat overlocking, uniform width, straight lines (no slanting or twisting), and consistent tightness. The pile height should be even with upright loops. Hold the towel at eye level—high-quality towels have smooth loops with minimal cotton lint shedding. The color should be pure and bright without uneven shading.

  2.Tactile Test

High-quality cotton towels feel fluffy, soft, and non-greasy. When squeezed in the fist, they are soft yet elastic, and no lint falls off when patted.

  3.Odor Check

Good towels have no unusual odors. A candle-like or ammonia smell indicates excessive softener. A sour smell may mean the pH value exceeds the standard. A pungent odor suggests the use of formaldehyde-containing fixatives, which may release free formaldehyde.

  4.Moisture Absorption Test

Hang the towel vertically, dip your hand in water, and flick the water onto the towel. If water droplets do not roll off, it indicates rapid absorption and diffusion, meaning good moisture absorption. Rolling water droplets suggest excessive softener or insufficient refining of the towel.

  5.Color Fastness Test

Pour hot water (around 80℃) into a basin, then soak and agitate the towel. No color change in the water indicates good quality. Fading water means poor printing and dyeing quality, which may be harmful to human health.

Therefore, we recommend choosing products from regular manufacturers. Qualified towel products have standardized labels with relevant manufacturer information, facilitating inquiry and after-sales handling. They also offer reasonable prices and good value for money.
