For hotel managers, the demand for hotel linen—especially towel products—is extremely high. However, guests often complain that towels are not soft enough and feel a bit stiff. So, how can we keep towels soft?
Huai'an StarShell has summarized practical tips from several laundry facilities. Let's take a look:
Place the towels in hot water with detergent, boil or soak them in hot water for 5 minutes, then wash them thoroughly while the water is still warm.
Every once in a while, boil the towels in soapy water, laundry detergent solution, or lye for a few minutes to prevent stiffness. Ensure the towels are fully submerged in water during boiling to avoid oxidation from contact with air, which can change their color. Then rinse them thoroughly with clean water followed by warm water, squeeze out excess water, and air-dry in a well-ventilated area. After drying, the towels will regain their softness. It’s important to note that towels should not be exposed to direct sunlight for a long time; natural air-drying in a well-ventilated place is preferable.
Soak the towels in a 1:4 vinegar essence solution (use just enough liquid to cover the towels). After soaking for 5 minutes, scrub them gently, then rinse thoroughly with clean water—this will also restore the towels’ softness.
